Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Associate to support daily operations in a customer-facing, non-distribution environment. This role focuses on manual order picking, inventory handling, and direct customer interaction. This is not a high-volume or forklift-driven role. Candidates must be comfortable pulling orders by hand, working with part numbers and bin locations, and assisting customers at the counter. This position offers long-term potential with union eligibility upon conversion.Responsibilities
- Manually pick and fulfill customer and internal orders using hands, carts, ladders, and order pickers
- Accurately pull, verify, and stage orders using part numbers and bin locations (no RF scanners)
- Assist customers at the will-call counter, including locating items and helping load materials
- Receive, verify, and stock incoming shipments in designated warehouse locations
- Prepare outbound shipments, including UPS and LTL orders
- Operate order pickers at heights up to 20 feet
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Support inventory accuracy, restocking, and general material handling tasks
- Occasionally operate a forklift (not a primary function)
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of recent warehouse experience involving manual picking and stocking
- Proven experience pulling orders using hands, carts, ladders, or similar methods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and perform physical work throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail when working with part numbers, SKUs, and bin locations
- Comfortable interacting with customers in a walk-in environment
- Ability to work at heights up to 20 feet
- Stable work history demonstrating reliability and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in smaller warehouse, branch, or retail-style environments (vs. large distribution centers)
- Prior customer-facing or counter service experience
- Experience with receiving, stocking, and inventory control
- Ability to quickly learn product types and warehouse layout
