Warehouse Associate

As a Warehouse Associate, the incumbent's purpose is to efficiently receive, unpack, arrange, store, gather, pick/pack, prepare, and load goods for dispatching according to order specifications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in fulfillment processes.The incumbent will carefully pack selected items into appropriate containers, applying proper cushioning and packaging materials to prevent damage during transit, and collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks, meet daily production goals, and contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and customer satisfaction.PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:PickerUtilize picking tablets to accurately identify and locate items within the picking area.Navigate through aisles to retrieve items, following established safety protocols and procedures.Inspect selected items for quality and correctness, ensuring they match the specifications listed on the picking documents.Scan every item into the picking tote to guarantee the correct SKU/product number is handled.Communicate any discrepancies, stock shortages, or issues encountered during the picking process to supervisors or picking leads.Adhere to established productivity and quality standards, striving to meet or exceed performance targets while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.PackerScan every item in the picking tote to ensure the item was picked properly.Prepare items for shipment by selecting appropriate packaging materials, such as boxes and packing paper.Ensure items are packed securely and arranged in a manner that minimizes the risk of damage during transit.Seal packages using appropriate sealing methods, such as tape, adhesive, or strapping, to prevent tampering or unauthorized access.Place the label on the package properly, making sure there's no folds or markings distorting the information on the label.REQUIRED SKILLSStrong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies in item descriptions, quantities, or specifications.Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors to relay important information regarding orders, inventory, and operational issues.Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes, technologies, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations while maintaining a commitment to productivity and quality standards.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSApplicants for this Warehouse Associate position must meet certain physical requirements to perform the job effectively. They must possess the ability to push, pull, and carry items weighing at least 50 pounds, demonstrating the strength and endurance necessary to handle various products and materials throughout the picking and packing process. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable standing, walking, and bending continuously and for extended periods in a warehouse environment, where they will navigate through aisles and workstations to locate, retrieve, and pack items accurately. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential for handling packages and operating equipment safely and efficiently. The ability to work in diverse conditions, including exposure to moderate noise levels, fluctuating temperatures, and occasionally dusty or crowded spaces, is also required to ensure the smooth operation of warehouse activities.WORKING CONDITIONS:Indoor warehouse environment where the temperature is regulated by swamp cooler and industrial fans with extended standing hours and periodic outdoor exposure to extreme weather in summer and winter.
