Warehouse AssociateReports To: Warehouse ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay: $18-20/hr Full Time Location: West Palm, Beach FloridaColwright (Powered by McCorquodale Transfer) is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join their team! SUMMARY: The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting the flow of goods, including receiving, organizing, storing, and preparing furniture, décor, and design materials. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of furniture, fixtures, and décor items.
- Safely unload, unpack, and check merchandise against shipping orders for accuracy and quality.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory to ensure easy accessibility and efficient workflow.
- Prepare items for deliveries, installations, and projects staging, ensuring all pieces are in excellent condition.
- Assist with furniture assembly, minor repairs, and touch-ups as needed.
- Coordinate with management team to pull, pack, and stage items for scheduled projects.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with safety standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dollies, or forklifts if certified).
- Track inventory levels and communicate damaged items to management.
- Support deliveries and installations as required, including occasional on-site assistance.
- Assist with training others if assigned by management.
- Assist with good teamwork altitude and professionalism to others at all times.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Education and/or Experience- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required; previous warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience preferred; furniture or interior design industry experience a plus.
- Language Skills –Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from management, and staff. Ability to effectively present information to management and staff. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor and staff, etc.
- Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc. This role requires the ability to operate ERP system, resolve minor IT issues and/or be able to coordinate with IT support.
- Communication- Displays a very quick grasp of the significance of information communicated and nearly always initiates or respond to communications in an appropriate, timely and comprehensive manner. Displays skill in reducing complex information to simple forms and helping others to understand that information.
- Organization- Effectively juggles multiple projects. Anticipates potential problems and develops excellent contingency plans. Keeps information and files clearly organized. Successfully pulls many unconnected things together. Defines the resources necessary and get them from where available.
- Teamwork- Demonstrates specific skills by usually anticipating information people need to know to do their jobs, resolving conflicts, fostering integrity and trust, and listening to bring a joint action by a number of people to achieve a desired result.
- Time Management- Master of multi-tasking. Manages time so well that can attend to many different activities in a day, ranging from the simplest to the most complex. Carefully plans activities so is always working efficiently and never wastes time doing unnecessary tasks. Rarely takes up less important work until priority tasks are completed. Consistently uses time efficiently and effectively.
