Job Description

Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company has been serving the construction industry since 1934. Mill Creek Carpet & Tile, a member of the Mill Creek family of companies, is a leading provider of flooring and tile solutions.

We are seeking a dependable, organized, hands-on Warehouse & Inventory Specialist to manage the day-to-day operations of our warehouse. This is an independent, hands-on position responsible for receiving materials, maintaining accurate inventory, handling and staging products, and ensuring materials are organized and ready when needed.

Because this is a one-person warehouse operation, the ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of the warehouse and working independently while coordinating closely with sales, operations, installers, vendors, and other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation.
  • Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quantity, and visible damage and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Unload, move, store, and organize flooring, tile, and other materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are properly received, labeled, stored, and accounted for.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Stage and prepare materials for customer orders, installations, transfers, and deliveries.
  • Verify outgoing materials for accuracy before they leave the warehouse.
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, installers, and other team members to ensure materials are available and ready when needed.
  • Maintain an organized warehouse that allows materials to be located and retrieved efficiently.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks and assist drivers, vendors, customers, and team members with material pickups and deliveries as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages, damaged products, or other inventory concerns.
  • Maintain accurate receiving, inventory, and material movement documentation.
  • Help prevent product damage, inventory loss, and misplaced materials through proper storage and handling practices.
  • Maintain warehouse equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Keep the warehouse, receiving areas, and storage locations clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
  • Take ownership of the daily organization and operation of the warehouse.
  • Other duties as assigned.
