Job Description
Local Company / Warehouse Worker
Pay: $14/hour
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 9-5:30
We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Warehouse & Donation Associate to support daily operations in a busy donation center and retail environment. This position involves picking up donations, assisting customers and donors, processing and organizing donated merchandise, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store and warehouse. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with the public, handling donations, performing physical work, and supervising volunteers.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up donated furniture, household goods, building materials, and other items from donors
- Assist customers and donors with questions, purchases, donations, and loading or unloading items
- Operate the cash register and accurately process customer transactions
- Receive, sort, organize, price, and merchandise donated items
- Screen donations for quality, condition, and resale potential
- Clean, repair, and prepare donated items for sale
- Properly dispose of recycling, trash, and items that cannot be sold
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized retail store and warehouse
- Organize inventory and ensure merchandise is properly displayed
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and donations
- Provide direction and support to volunteers and help coordinate daily volunteer activities
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Follow all safety procedures and donation guidelines
Requirements:
- Previous warehouse, retail, customer service, or donation center experience preferred
- Cash register or point-of-sale experience preferred
- Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload donated items
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work with and provide direction to volunteers
- Dependable, hardworking, and able to work independently
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
