Job Description

Who We ArePorter Logistics is a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider redefining modern warehousing and fulfillment. Headquartered in Atlanta, we've scaled over the past decade from a two-person operation in 10,000 square feet to more than 1 million square feet across multiple Georgia facilities, supporting high-volume, high-expectation customers across a range of industries.

Our growth is driven by a relentless focus on operational excellence, accuracy, and customer satisfaction—but it's our people who make it possible. We believe in ownership, integrity, teamwork, and consistency, and we're committed to building careers, not just filling roles.

We're excited to be expanding into Savannah, marking our first facility in the market. This new location represents a major milestone for Porter Logistics and offers a unique opportunity to help launch, shape, and grow operations from the ground up while being supported by an established, Atlanta-based organization.

The RoleThe Warehouse Lead owns end-to-end floor operations—inbound and outbound—for assigned clients at our Savannah facility. This role is critical to inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, and client trust across the full fulfillment cycle.

You will lead a small team through all receiving, putaway, picking, staging, and shipping functions while serving as the primary point of contact for operational exceptions and client-impacting issues. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong forklift skills, sharp attention to detail, and close collaboration with Customer Success and Operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Inbound

  • Own all inbound shipments for assigned clients, ensuring accurate and timely receiving
  • Unload trucks and containers using appropriate material handling equipment
  • Verify inbound freight against packing lists, BOLs, and system records
  • Identify, document, and report all damages, shortages, and overages promptly
  • Ensure product is properly labeled, palletized, and put away within required SLA timelines
  • Maintain high standards for inventory accuracy and 24-hour putaway metrics

Outbound

  • Own all outbound shipments for assigned clients and order streams
  • Oversee picking, staging, and final verification of outbound orders
  • Perform final quality checks to confirm order accuracy, quantities, and labeling
  • Ensure orders ship on the correct day using the correct carrier and service level
  • Complete and verify all outbound shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, labels)
  • Monitor and drive on-time shipping and outbound accuracy KPIs

Floor Leadership & Operations

  • Lead a team of associates across inbound and outbound functions
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for order and shipment exceptions
  • Coordinate closely with Customer Success to communicate and resolve discrepancies
  • Support value-added services as needed (kitting, labeling, pallet builds/breaks, wrapping)
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently (sit-down, stand-up, reach, cherry picker)
  • Enforce safety, process, and quality standards across all warehouse operations
  • Set clear expectations, hold the team accountable, and foster a culture of ownership

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of warehouse experience spanning both inbound receiving and outbound shipping operations
  • Prior lead or senior operator experience preferred
  • Strong forklift operating experience across multiple lift types
  • Solid understanding of shipping processes, carriers, and documentation
  • Experience working in a WMS environment
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately
  • Customer-first mindset with a positive, team-oriented attitude and strong sense of urgency
