Job Description
Local steel shop seeking action-oriented, reliable and hardworking individuals with 2+ years of manufacturing experience. This position is responsible for handling materials as it relates to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. Must be able and willing to work overtime.
Compensation: $18 per hour
Hours: 6pm - 2:30am, Mon-Fri
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts in a safe manner.
- Packaging finished products for storage and shipment.
- Loading, unloading and receiving of both inbound/outbound shipments
- Read and adhere to standard and special packaging specifications.
- Safe and proper operation of manual, semi-automatic and automatic packaging equipment.
- Complete and inspect paperwork, tagging and final package for finished products.
- Properly loads trucks in a safe manner, including chaining and tarp trailer.
- Ability to follow safety and operations processes and procedures
- Work together with all members of a processing crew and company management.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial and/or distribution environment
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled work environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation and steady work history
- Steel-toed boots and hard hat required
- Must be computer literate
