Job Description

Location: Las Vegas, NV (Onsite, full-time)

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Role Overview

The Outbound Operations Manager leads and develops the outbound team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and cost-effective order processing and shipment of merchandise. This hands-on role oversees all outbound functions—including picking, packing, shipping, and outbound quality control—while driving operational excellence through industry best practices and continuous process improvement. The outbound manager is accountable for meeting productivity and efficiency KPIs, implementing workflow improvements, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. This role is responsible for actively leading, coaching, and mentoring team members to achieve and sustain exceptional individual and team performance.

Core Responsibilities

1. Process Management

  • Manage the daily operations of Inbound, Receiving, Put Away, and Replenishment teams.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine efficient, standardized workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment needs, and management of incoming goods.
  • Manage KPI's for outbound operations..
  • Partner with outbound Manager, Inventory manager,returns manager, to resolve issues swiftly and prevent repeat issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to reduce picking/packing times and labor costs.

2. Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of pickers, packers, and shipping sorting team.
  • Set clear daily throughput and quality targets; conduct regular feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Build a positive, accountable culture focused on accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide real-time coaching on process discipline, data entry, and product handling.

3. System & Vendor Management

  • Own and optimize the outbound module in the WMS.
  • Maintain accurate receiving codes, workflows, and integrations.
  • Coordinate with Inventory manager, Inbound manager, and third party vendors to schedule outbound containers.

4. Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and report KPI's
  • Conduct root-cause analyses for any picking issues, packing issues, and sorting issues.
  • Lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives to eliminate waste and reduce return processing costs.

5. Compliance & Policy Governance

  • Ensure all returns and product handling comply with company policy, warranty standards, and regulatory requirements (EPA, consumer protection, e-waste, etc.).
  • Maintain updated documentation and SOPs, for picking, shipping, sorting, and carrier pick ups. 

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in Outbound, including picking, shipping and carrier sorting, ideally in DTC or consumer goods.
  • Proven track record in process optimization, team leadership, and KPI-driven management.
  • Hands-on experience with WMS systems.
  • Familiarity with damage prevention analytics, quality feedback loops, and supplier RTV programs.
  • Strong understanding of Lean / Six Sigma, warehouse safety, and compliance practices.
  • Excellent communicator able to bridge warehouse, customer, and finance functions.
