Job Summary:

The Warehouse Porter plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. This position supports daily operations by assisting with janitorial tasks, light maintenance, trash removal, and general upkeep of the warehouse and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse floors, aisles, break rooms, restrooms, and other common areas.

• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors regularly to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

• Remove trash and recyclables from bins and dispose of them in designated areas.

• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.

• Clean up spills and debris promptly to prevent safety hazards.

• Assist with organizing pallets, empty boxes, and shrink wrap in proper disposal or recycling areas.

• Support warehouse staff with basic tasks such as moving equipment, organizing supplies, or light stocking when needed.

• Perform light maintenance duties including replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, or reporting larger maintenance issues.

• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

• Ensure exterior areas (dock, entryways, parking lot) remain clean and free of debris.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• 1+ year of experience in janitorial, custodial, or warehouse porter role preferred.

• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Basic understanding of warehouse operations a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English (bilingual a plus).

• Must be dependable and punctual.

Working Conditions:

• Work performed primarily in a warehouse setting with occasional outdoor work.

• Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise.

• May involve working near forklifts, conveyors, and other moving equipment.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

• Ability to climb ladders or operate cleaning equipment if necessary.
