Basic Function: The Receiving & Inventory Associate will be responsible for and will manage day-to-day receiving efforts and play a key role in handling most, if not all parts inventory applicable. This individual will drive the organization and placement of products into our warehouse, as well as enter products into our ERP system.

Essential Functions: 

  • Inventory Control:
    • Inspects inbound freight and reports any damage.
    • Receives product into ERP system.
    • Puts away products and assists others who are performing inventory related processes.
    •  Monitors inventory levels and assesses Replens to maintain desired stock levels.
    •  Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
    •  Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits, records results and makes placement adjustments as necessary.
    • Performs bin consolidation to ensure maximizing of space utilization.
    •  Processes customer returns.
    •  Coordinates vendor returns.
    •  Controls demo product movement from warehouse.
  • Order Selection and Shipping:
    • Operates forklift, order picker, or pallet jack to pick product orders as needed.
    • Makes certain appropriate paperwork is complete before product leaves  premises, (i.e. UPS, SpeeDee, Truck and end of day postings).
    • Performs ship Sales Order functions.
    • Efficiently and thoroughly packs products to minimize damage.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with personnel in other departments to ensure the proper coordination of receivables.
  • Picks all orders from stock as required per customer pick lists. Ensures all product picked matches pick list. 
  • Places product in appropriate area for shipping or customer pick up.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Attends training as determined from GNE.

Secondary Functions:

  • Customer Service:
    • Assists all Will Call customers with product pick up and loading (according to warehouse policy).
  • Picks product for salesperson needs and assists with truck/trailer loading.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related warehouse experience.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Possess a forklift certification or have the ability to be adequately trained to obtain one.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • PC skills – including navigation of Company ERP, use of Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers and related departments.

Work Environment:

  • Office: Office setting is climate controlled and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Warehouse: Warehouse setting is partially climate controlled and the noise level is usually moderate.  Employees may be regularly exposed to forklift, foaming and cutting equipment.

Machines/Equipment: In the normal course of performing this job a telephone, headset, RF scanner, and computer will be used. Machinery used include forklift, reach truck, order picker, and pallet jack.
