Warehouse Shipping & Dock Supervisor

This is a full time position from Congers New York. Hours are 2:00PM - 11:00PM, Monday through Friday. Annual salary range for this position is $68,000 - $72,000.
Position Overview
The Outbound Dock Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for directing all outbound shipping dock operations, logistics coordination, fleet routing, and load execution during the afternoon/evening shift. This position ensures that every outbound shipment leaves accurately, on time, and in compliance with PowerPak’s operational and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in multi-modal freight (Parcel, LTL, FTL), fleet management, and hands-on dock supervision — with the academic foundation to drive continuous improvement across the outbound supply chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Dock Leadership & Team Supervision
- Own the outbound dock from 2:00 PM through end-of-shift, serving as the primary point of accountability for all dock activity
- Supervise, coach, and develop outbound fulfillment staff including pickers, packers, loaders, and dock associates
- Assign daily tasks, manage labor allocation, and monitor individual and team performance against shift KPIs
- Escalate staffing, equipment, or operational issues to Operations Management as needed
Outbound Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate all outbound shipment modes including Parcel (FedEx, UPS, USPS), LTL, and FTL freight
- Manage carrier relationships, schedule pickups, and resolve service failures or exceptions in real time
- Serve as the primary point of contact with third-party carriers and logistics partners during shift hours
- Monitor outbound shipment status and proactively communicate delays or changes to internal stakeholders
- Ensure accurate generation of all shipping documentation, BOLs, manifests, packing slips, and carrier labels
Fleet Routing & Management
- Build, optimize, and manage daily delivery routes for PowerPak's fleet of vans and trailers using routing software
- Oversee driver dispatch, pre-trip inspections, and hours-of-service compliance
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance scheduling with the Operations team to minimize fleet downtime
- Track and report fleet performance metrics including DIFOT, stop counts, and cost-per-delivery
Loading Operations
- Supervise and participate in the loading of fleet vans, trailers, and carrier pickups, ensuring proper weight distribution, load integrity, and route sequencing
- Enforce safe loading procedures and company standards for mixed-freight handling
- Direct forklift operators and dock associates to stage and load outbound freight efficiently
- Conduct pre-load audits to verify order accuracy, product condition, and labeling compliance before departure
Inventory & Systems Management
- Utilize NetSuite to manage outbound order flow, monitor inventory accuracy, and generate shipping reports
- Leverage WMS and RF scanners to confirm picks, validate loads, and maintain real-time inventory integrity
- Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, short-ships, and order exceptions before close of shift
- Support cycle count programs and collaborate with the Inventory team on outbound-related variances
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all outbound orders meet PowerPak quality and accuracy standards prior to shipment
- Enforce packaging, labeling, and documentation compliance across all shipment types
- Maintain a safe, organized, and OSHA-compliant dock environment
- Report and document incidents, near-misses, and equipment issues promptly
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and deliver end-of-shift operational reports covering shipment volumes, exceptions, route performance, and team productivity
- Identify and recommend process improvements across dock operations, routing efficiency, and carrier utilization
- Partner with Operations Management to develop and implement SOPs for outbound workflows
- Analyze shipping data trends to reduce costs, improve delivery accuracy, and enhance customer experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse or distribution experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Demonstrated expertise in LTL, FTL, and Parcel shipping operations
- Proven experience managing fleet routing and driver dispatch using routing software
- WMS and RF scanner experience required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Forklift certification required (sit-down counterbalance; reach truck a plus)
- Experience with DOT/HOS regulations and fleet compliance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and shipping/logistics platforms
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; must be able to work in a physically demanding dock environment
- Must meet all qualifications listed above to be considered for this position
