Warehouse Supervisor - Cold Store

About the Role

Maersk Cold Store, located in the state-of-the-art facility in Maasvlakte, is a modern cold chain logistics hub specializing in the storage and handling of fresh and frozen products. Within our operation, safety, quality, service, and operational excellence are key priorities.

We are looking for a hands-on and operationally strong Warehouse Supervisor to oversee and support the daily warehouse activities on the floor. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day execution of warehouse operations in a fast-paced and highly dynamic cold store environment.

As Warehouse Supervisor, you are the direct point of contact for warehouse operators, reachtruck drivers, and operational teams during the shift. You lead by example on the floor, ensure operational continuity, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and structured operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations including inbound, storage, replenishment, order picking, loading, and dispatch activities.
• Act as the operational lead on the warehouse floor during the shift and ensure smooth execution of daily planning.
• Lead, coach, and motivate warehouse operators and drivers to achieve operational and safety targets.
• Monitor productivity, workflow, and operational priorities throughout the day and adjust where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and Maersk operational standards.
• Maintain strong operational control within chilled and frozen storage environments.
• Support inventory accuracy by ensuring correct stock handling and system registrations in the WMS.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and escalate issues proactively to Warehouse Management.
• Work closely together with Customer Service, Planning, Customs, and other operational departments to ensure service excellence.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees and temporary staff.
• Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards within the warehouse.
• Promote a strong safety culture and actively lead by example on the floor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or similar operational leadership role within logistics, cold storage, food manufacturing, or FMCG environments.
• Experience working in cold store operations and handling fresh or frozen products is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on mentality with a strong presence on the warehouse floor.
• Experience working in a dynamic and fast-moving operational environment with changing priorities.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and warehouse processes.
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and food safety standards.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide operational teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain structured and decisive under operational pressure.
• Proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus).
