Job Description Summary

Dauch is seeking a Warranty Co-op to join our team! In this role, you will support warranty initiatives by analyzing data, investigating field-returned components, and assisting with root cause analysis activities. You will gain hands-on experience working with customer warranty systems, product evaluations, and cross-functional problem-solving efforts. The ideal candidate possesses strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.

Job Description:

  • Learn about Dauch products and support warranty investigations related to field performance and customer concerns.
  • Analyze customer warranty data to identify trends, track returned components, and monitor warranty metrics including claim volume, labor codes, and cost impacts.
  • Assist in investigating product issues by evaluating warranty claims and identifying potential causes of field failures or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout Dauch including Product Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Gear Lab Engineering, Quality, and other technical functions to support problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in hands-on evaluation of field-returned components, including product teardowns and failure analysis.
  • Document root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Prepare reports and presentations that communicate warranty trends, investigation results, and product performance data to manufacturing facilities and stakeholders.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree or related field, fulltime at an accredited university
  • Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
  • 3.0 minimum GPS
  • Candidate must be able to work 25 hours a week year round.
  • Must be interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
  • Technical / Industrial knowledge and/or experience preferred.
