Wastewater Operator South Carolina

Summary

This role is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and operational standards. The Wastewater Operator will support plant performance through process control, equipment inspection, sampling, troubleshooting, and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control wastewater treatment processes to ensure regulatory compliance

• Conduct routine inspections of treatment systems and equipment

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to support optimal plant operation

• Collect, analyze, and interpret water quality samples

• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions

• Document operational data and maintain accurate logs for compliance and reporting purposes

• Prepare reports for internal review and regulatory agencies

• Participate in training programs to maintain and enhance technical competencies

• Follow safety protocols and environmental compliance standards at all times

Requirements

• 2–15 years of experience in wastewater operations or a related field

• Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and environmental regulations

• Experience operating and maintaining treatment facility equipment

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based operational environment

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility

• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification development
