Job Description

Clarity Partners is seeking a Water Facilities Construction Project Manager local to Chicago, IL. This role will support a multi-year capital improvement program focused on improving Chicago's water infrastructure systems, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and major water conveyance facilities. The ideal candidate will oversee complex construction projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction activities for large municipal water infrastructure projects including purification plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and tunnels.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary construction improvements including electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural components.
  • Coordinate with resident engineers, inspectors, and consultants to ensure work aligns with project specifications and contract documents.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and overall performance while providing status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment and ensure successful project closeout.
  • Facilitate communication between the client, design teams, and contractors to resolve scope changes and project challenges.
  • Lead and mentor engineering and technical staff supporting construction initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and municipal guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 10-15+ years of experience managing large infrastructure or water/wastewater construction projects is preferred.
  • Experience working on municipal or public sector capital improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Water Facilities Construction Project Manager, the base salary pay range is $140,000 - $190,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time
