Position Overview
The Water Restoration Technician performs water mitigation and restoration services for residential and commercial customers. This role completes drying, demolition, cleanup, and restoration tasks while documenting progress through notes, photos, and reports for insurance claims. The technician also communicates directly with customers regarding job progress and next steps.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and maintain a professional appearance.
- Explain restoration processes and next steps to customers.
- Perform water extraction, demolition, pack-outs, debris removal, and light construction tasks.
- Monitor active jobs daily and adjust drying plans based on moisture readings.
- Inspect completed work, obtain customer signatures, and collect payment when needed.
- Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment; report damage or malfunctions.
- Resolve customer concerns and communicate updates to supervisors.
- Complete accurate job notes, photos, and documentation for insurance purposes.
Qualifications
- Restoration or construction experience preferred, but not required.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using mobile apps/software for documentation.
- Ability to follow product labels, safety procedures, and work instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in uniform.
- Must be available for alternating on-call schedule.
Preferred Certifications
- WTR - Water Damage Restoration Technician
- ASD - Applied Structural Drying Technician
Physical Requirements
Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform essential job functions. Must be able to:
- Lift/move up to 70 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, and crouch for extended periods.
- Wear a respirator when required.
- Perform detailed work requiring visual accuracy.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
