Description

Bring your technical leadership to a mission-critical water and wastewater organization serving Bentonville. This Water Utilities City Engineer role offers the chance to guide capital planning, engineering design, and construction oversight that directly impact public infrastructure and long-term system performance.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Civil Engineer position include:

10+ years of related experience in civil engineering (with 5+ years in progressively responsible management or supervisory roles preferred), plus a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in civil or construction engineering.
Supervise and direct 4-6 employees within the Technical Services Team, including training, assigning work, performance evaluation, and staff reviews.
Oversee review of municipal civil engineering projects for compliance with City water and sanitary sewer standards, specifications, and ordinances.
Provide technical support and direction for capital and land development teams; deliver direct design and professional engineering support to Water, Sewer Rehab, and Wastewater departments.
Assist in formulation and detail of water and sewer specifications; support GIS record and record drawing maintenance for subdivisions and capital improvement projects.
Oversee capital project finals for final acceptance of City-owned and maintained projects, including water and sanitary sewer mains.
Inspect construction sites, monitor progress, ensure conformance to plans/specifications, and coordinate pre-construction and site conferences for multiple simultaneous contracts.
Maintain and oversee flow monitoring and pressure monitoring programs; support budget administration and review contract service reports for project status and permit compliance.

Salary: $88,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional pays for college degree
