You’re working outdoors on the waterfront, just steps from the harbor. Sailboats drift in and out, the breeze carries salt air through the wharf, and every shift feels like summer in Newport.
From morning coffee in the sun to golden hour sunsets over the water, you’re not behind a desk, you’re part of the experience. You’re welcoming guests, helping them plan the highlight of their trip, and creating a warm, effortless first impression of Sightsailing.
Welcome to Sightsailing of Newport, a locally owned sailing company operating since 1990, offering unforgettable experiences on the water, from relaxed daytime sails to iconic sunset cruises and private charters.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their entire experience.
- Welcome guests with a friendly, confident, and polished presence
- Help guests choose and book the right sailing experience
- Sell public sail tickets and private charters
- Check guests in and manage departures smoothly
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries with clear, helpful information
- Share local recommendations and enhance the guest experience
- Process transactions and manage daily sales
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front desk space
- Occasionally assist with capturing content or photos on the boats
Who You Are
- Naturally outgoing, warm, and engaging
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable speaking with a wide range of guests
- Quick-thinking and able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Interested in hospitality, tourism, or sales
- Excited to work outdoors in a waterfront setting
- Available for a mix of shifts, including weekends and evenings
- Able to work through the core season (May through October preferred)

- $16–$18/hour base pay
