Job Description

Web Developer – SWE1

Clearance: TS/SCI with FS Polygraph

We are seeking a Web Developer (SWE1) to join a small engineering team developing and supporting enterprise web services deployed in AWS cloud environments. This position provides an opportunity to work across the technology stack, including APIs, user interfaces, and data layers.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who can take ownership of features from development through production deployment and support. You will contribute to design decisions, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and help improve the reliability, security, and maintainability of multiple applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement features across the full technology stack, including APIs, user interfaces, and data layers, with limited supervision.
  • Develop clear technical approaches and implementation plans for assigned features.
  • Deploy and support applications in production environments.
  • Monitor applications, troubleshoot production incidents, and identify root causes.
  • Implement fixes and improvements that increase application reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to system architecture and technical direction, including scalability, security, and technology tradeoffs.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and estimate development efforts.
  • Deliver software iteratively within an Agile development environment.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and technical teams to support mission requirements.

Required Qualifications

Professional development experience with one or more of the following technologies:

  • PHP
  • .NET / C#
  • Java
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • HTML / CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Vue.js
  • React

Additional required experience:

  • Experience deploying and operating software on Linux, including service configuration, log analysis, basic networking, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication/authorization concepts, and secure coding practices.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, including practical experience with indexes and query performance/tuning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems across application, operating system, and infrastructure layers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including:*
    • IAM
    • EC2
    • Application Load Balancer (ALB)
    • S3
    • RDS
    • CloudWatch
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience supporting applications in production and working with cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation, and modern software development practices.
