Description

Are you an innovative leader who can motivate a team and drive for results? Are you a Web Press Operator that wants to transition into a supervisory position? Mittera is currently seeking a leader to join our team as a Pressroom Supervisor/Operator on 2nd shift or 3rd shift! The Press Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating jobs with press team members based on the press schedule. They will oversee press operations and verify printed material to ensure conformance with job specifications.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the third shift pressroom team.
  • Lead by example by promoting safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Operate web press equipment as needed to meet production schedules and staffing requirements.
  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust web presses to produce high-quality printed materials.
  • Coordinate workflow and prioritize jobs to maximize productivity and meet customer deadlines.
  • Monitor production performance and address issues that impact efficiency, quality, or schedule.
  • Troubleshoot press, mechanical, and production issues, escalating maintenance concerns when appropriate.
  • Ensure all work meets customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Train, coach, and mentor press operators, assistants, and roll tenders on proper procedures and best practices.
  • Assist with onboarding and developing new employees.
  • Communicate production priorities, shift updates, and operational concerns with management and other departments.
  • Monitor material usage and minimize waste whenever possible.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production paperwork and system documentation.
  • Promote compliance with all company safety policies and operating procedures.
  • Assist with employee performance coaching and provide input on performance evaluations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership, lead operator, or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of web press operation, setup, troubleshooting, and print quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, production specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and manage multiple production demands.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety practices.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with production systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination.
