Company Overview: We are a busy and growing fabrication facility located in Abita Springs, LA, specializing in high-quality metalwork for commercial and industrial applications. We're currently seeking a motivated and dependable

Welder Helper to join our team and support daily welding and fabrication operations.

Job Summary: The Welder Helper will assist welders, fabricators, and shop personnel with various tasks including material preparation, equipment setup, and general shop maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a skilled trade and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist welders with setup, positioning, and preparation of materials

• Clean, grind, and organize metal components

• Operate basic shop tools and equipment (grinders, saws, drills, etc.)

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Move and stage materials using forklifts or hoists (training provided)

• Follow safety procedures and report any hazards to supervision

• Perform other general labor tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a shop or industrial environment preferred, but not required

• Willingness to learn and follow directions

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

• Must be able to work in a hot, loud, and fast-paced environment

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (some overtime may be required)
