Job Title: Welder Fitter (MIG/TIG) Pay: $20 - $24 per hour Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM to 11:00 PM Start Date: ASAPLooking for a hands-on role in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Join a leading metal fabricator as a Welder Fitter in Youngstown, OH, and build a rewarding career. As a Welder Fitter, you'll be essential in assembling and fitting metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every project.What Youll Do: As a Welder Fitter, you will be responsible for:
- Fitting and assembling structural frameworks and housings using blueprint specifications and welding equipment.*
- Analyzing blueprints and material lists to accurately obtain part details.*
- Laying out parts on the worktable with squares, chalk lines, and soapstone for precise cuts and placements.*
- Tack-welding metal components to create assembly outlines and jigs for consistent accuracy.*
- Positioning parts in jigs and shaping them with files, chisels, and grinders to ensure proper fit.*
- Heating parts with acetylene torches to bend and shape as needed.*
- Tack-welding assembled parts, verifying dimensions against blueprints with squares, rules, and calipers.*
- Optionally annealing parts to relieve welding stress and completing assemblies with acetylene torch and brazing rods.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.*
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant welding and fitting experience.*
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex specifications accurately.*
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle welding and fitting tasks effectively.*
- MIG Welders: Prefer experience steel plate welding on pipes and tubes.*
- TIG Welders: Prefer experience in open root TIG welding.*
- Prior experience with fitting metal components is a plus.
