Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Recruiter is responsible for executing talent acquisition strategies to attract, engage, and hire qualified clinical professionals in alignment with the organization's workforce and patient care goals. This role partners closely with nursing leadership, clinical managers, and operational leaders to develop targeted recruitment plans, build sustainable talent pipelines, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. The Clinical Recruiter applies healthcare recruiting expertise, market knowledge, and relationship-building skills to meet staffing needs efficiently while supporting quality patient outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Develops and executes recruitment strategies to attract clinical talent, including nurses, allied health professionals, providers, and other patient-care roles.

- Sources active and passive candidates through networking, referrals, job boards, social media, and healthcare-specific recruitment platforms.

- Builds strong consultative relationships with nursing leaders, clinical managers, and department heads to understand staffing needs and workforce plans.

- Creates, manages, and tracks requisitions to ensure timely approvals and progress throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

- Posts and maintains job advertisements on platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, healthcare job boards, and the organization's career site.

- Screens applicants and conducts behavioral and clinical-focused interviews via phone, video, and in-person.

- Coordinates interviews between candidates and clinical leadership, ensuring clear communication and a positive candidate experience.

- Facilitates and negotiates job offers, including compensation, shift differentials, and start dates, in collaboration with HR and leadership.

- Supports onboarding by ensuring completion of pre-employment requirements such as licensure verification, background checks, drug screening, health screenings, and credentialing documentation.

- Educates candidates on job expectations, schedules, benefits, clinical environment, and organizational culture.

- Maintains accurate and compliant candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).

- Develops and maintains pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill clinical roles.

- Communicates disposition and rejection decisions professionally to preserve candidate relationships for future opportunities.

- Monitors recruitment metrics and market trends to adjust strategies and improve time-to-fill and quality-of-hire.

- Participates in career fairs, hiring events, and community outreach to promote clinical employment opportunities.

- Ensures compliance with employment laws, healthcare regulations, and organizational policies.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred

- 2–4 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience required

- Healthcare or clinical recruiting experience strongly preferred

- Experience recruiting nurses or allied health professionals preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Knowledge of clinical roles, licensure requirements, and healthcare hiring practices

- Expertise in sourcing and recruiting healthcare professionals, including passive candidates

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clinical leadership and candidates

- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn, and healthcare recruitment tools

- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment

- Understanding of employment laws, compliance standards, and credentialing requirements

- Problem-solving and negotiation skills

- Commitment to delivering an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
