Join a dynamic manufacturing company in Sanford, Maine, and become a vital part of a busy production team where your craftsmanship makes a real difference.As a Powder Coat Operator, you'll play a crucial role in supporting daily production by preparing, coating, and inspecting metal parts to ensure a high-quality, durable finish. You'll work closely with your team to meet production deadlines and uphold top standards for quality and safety.What You'll Do As a Powder Coat Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Loading and unloading parts and operating the powder coating system with precision and care.
- Inspecting products before and after coating to verify quality standards are met.
- Operating and maintaining equipment including the wash system and powder booth to ensure optimal functioning.
- Utilizing basic hand and power tools, hand trucks, and pallet jacks to handle parts efficiently.
- Performing routine shop maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning, greasing, and checking fluids.
- Applying Lean and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste, rework, and scrap.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working around machinery and tools.
- Strong attention to detail to catch imperfections early.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to lift 10-20 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs periodically, and assist with team lifts of up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a warm environment and standing for long periods.
