Job Description

 Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative

Location: Huntington Beach, CA Schedule: Monday–Friday | Fully In-Office

Compensation: $24–$25/hour

About Opportunity

We are conducting a confidential search for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative to join a growing insurance organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least one year of claims-related experience who understands workers’ compensation terminology and the fundamentals of the claims process.

The ideal candidate does not need to be a fully trained claims adjuster. The organization is prepared to provide training on its specific claim-management processes. What they are looking for is someone who already understands the language, terminology, documentation, and day-to-day environment of claims and is ready to build upon that foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration and management of workers’ compensation claims
  • Review and maintain accurate claim documentation and records
  • Communicate with injured employees, employers, medical providers, adjusters, and other involved parties
  • Monitor claim activity, medical documentation, appointments, and required follow-up
  • Assist with gathering and reviewing information related to claims
  • Maintain timely and detailed claim notes and records
  • Track claim status and follow up on outstanding information or documentation
  • Support the claims team with day-to-day claim administration and processing
  • Ensure information is handled accurately, professionally, and confidentially
  • Learn and apply the organization’s specific claims-management procedures and processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of claims-related experience
  • Exposure to workers’ compensation is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of common insurance and claims terminology
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple files, priorities, and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the workers’ compensation claims function

Backgrounds That May Be a Great Fit

Candidates with experience as:

  • Workers’ Compensation Claims Coordinator
  • Claims Coordinator
  • Claims Technician
  • Medical Only Claims Representative
  • Medical Only Claims Specialist
  • Injury Coordinator
  • Claims Assistant
  • Claims Associate
  • Claims Administrator
  • Workers’ Compensation Assistant
  • TPA Claims Support Professional

What Makes This Opportunity Different

You don't need to know everything about managing a workers’ compensation claim on day one.

The organization is willing to teach and train the right person on its specific claims process. The key is having an existing foundation in claims and being comfortable with the terminology and environment.

If you understand the difference between a medical-only claim and a lost-time claim, know what an injured worker, adjuster, FROI, medical documentation, return-to-work restrictions, and claim file are — you're already speaking the language they're looking for.
