Job Description
Join Genentech's Workplace Design & Management team and help shape the future of how we work. In this pivotal role, you'll be more than a strategist—you'll be a catalyst for innovation and collaboration, transforming physical spaces and work practices into competitive advantages. You'll partner with Genentech's brightest business leaders to design cutting-edge workplace solutions that enhance organizational performance, drive adoption of new work paradigms, and create vibrant, dynamic environments where exceptional work happens every day.
You will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing creative, budget-compliant solutions rooted in deep understanding of client business needs, risks, and implications. Your exceptional facilitation and negotiation skills will enable you to build strong partnerships and propel business results. You'll oversee workplace projects and drive robust change management processes that ensure successful integration of new work paradigms and physical spaces—spanning from tactical space planning activities including occupancy audits and move management, to leading vendor partners and project teams toward defined goals. You'll design and implement change initiatives with risk mitigation strategies, coach teams through adoption, manage stakeholder experiences, and partner with EHS and Corporate Security to maintain compliance.
The Opportunity
Core Responsibilities
Client Partnership & Relationship Management – Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing creative, budget-compliant solutions while fostering strong relationships through deep understanding of client business needs, implications, and risks
Workplace Strategy Implementation – Develop and implement comprehensive workplace strategies, forecast long-range space requirements (1-3 years), and develop space policies and guidelines consistent with Genentech's culture
Space Planning & Occupancy Management – Execute occupancy and tactical planning activities including option development, stack/block/neighborhood planning, adjacency mapping, detailed move planning, and management of occupancy data through quarterly audits and CAFM system updates
Project Leadership – Lead and direct vendor partners to achieve project goals, influence stakeholder decision-making on scope and tradeoffs, and oversee project teams with regular updates and funding requests to upper management
Change Management & Adoption – Drive change initiatives by designing and implementing strategies with risk mitigation and communication plans, while coaching teams and supporting leadership to facilitate adoption and evaluate user readiness
Stakeholder Experience & Engagement – Ensure a welcoming experience for all stakeholders, develop concierge initiatives, and continually improve services by addressing team member feedback and fostering inclusive work environments
Compliance & Safety Partnerships – Partner with EHS and Corporate Security to ensure adherence to health and safety standards across all workplace design and management initiatives
Who You Are
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or comparable experience) in Architecture, Design, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, CFM, or PMP) is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in workplace strategy, corporate real estate, change management, facility planning, or project management
This position is not eligible for relocation.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pennsylvania is $115,500.00 - $214,500.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
