Yard Associate

Location: St. George, UTPay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour (DOE)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Associate to support daily operations in a busy building materials yard. This position is responsible for assisting customers, loading and unloading materials, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the yard remains organized, safe, and efficient.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Load and unload lumber, building materials, and customer orders safely and accurately.
• Assist customers and contractors with locating and loading products.
• Pull, stage, and prepare orders for pickup and delivery.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Organize, stock, and maintain inventory throughout the yard.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with general yard maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, construction, or outdoor labor environment preferred.
• Forklift experience is highly preferred; certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of lumber, building materials, or construction products is beneficial.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely handle building materials of various sizes and weights.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Reliable transportation required.
