Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Safely Pickup and deliver inventory from warehouse to warehouse utilizing the company's yard mule, trailers and other heavy equipment.Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and use a handheld scanner. Communicate with Warehouse leads and management using handheld radiosAbility to use a forklift should the demands of the business require Sign/date/completely fill out and maintain the required Driver Activity LogMaintain quality in the warehouse, keep track of all damaged inventory, and report quality issues to the Supervisor notating the Activity Log. Report immediately to management any issues with Mule Tractor or trailers.Follow material flow requirements for the plant. Able to efficiently carry out all orders of the Supervisors.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Chock trailers and use trailer jacksClean out trailers and Mule tractor Clean around loading docks inside and outMust Comply with all company policies Must move Tandems on the trailers as needed
The ideal candidate shall possess the following:High School Diploma or GED
Previous yard mule experience in a fast-paced environment with at least 5 years of driving experienceMust have a driver’s license, CDL required along with good driving record. Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.Strong teamwork skills required Ability to lift 25lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbsAbility to read numbers and labels understand verbal and written instructions, effectively communicate in writing and verbally to observe safety precautions. Ability to use hands to touch, handle and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. Able to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights as needed. Able to step on and off the Mule Tractor repeatedly for every move.Able to attach and detach trailers at assigned docks repeatedly.Must be flexible and willing to work to the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends and Holidays.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of the job the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
