Position Summary:The Program Coordinator has a primary impact in the overall success and effectiveness of the City of Pembroke Pines Special Population’s Summer Camp goals and objectives as it pertains to their grant with the Children’s Services Counsel (CSC). The individual in this position is responsible for overall operational management required to ensure a successful outcome and deliverables of the program.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:• Acts as a consultant to the City of Pembroke Pines Summer Camp staff.• Reviews CSC Tool to understand program requirements needed each summer.• Assists in registration of participants and maintains participant files.• Develops and maintains regular communication and relationships with City of Pembroke Pines Summer Camp supervisor. • Actively participates in daily operations and offers solutions and ideas to fulfil the requirements and deliverables of the grant.• Implements established Program Quality Standards and participates in the development of these standards. • Supervises Part Time Site Supervisor on a daily basis.• Obtains, develops, and maintains community relationships with the City of Pembroke Pines representatives, municipalities, and community agencies providing services related to the Youth Development and the YMCA.• Ensures compliance with all agencies, including YMCA, City of Pembroke Pines, and Children Services Counsel.• Develops and monitors program progress with the Senior Program Director, Associate Executive Director and/or the Executive Director. • Attends all required departmental meetings and trainings.• Assists with curriculum development and implementation. Ensures all grant outcomes are met.• Gathers and submits monthly documents to the billing team before monthly deadline.• Ensures that all grant compliance measures are maintained. • Ensures that grant outcome data is collected with fidelity and reported by the deadlines provided. • Any additional responsibilities established by Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities / Position Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, and Child Development or related field preferred.• Minimum two years of experience managing youth development programs and three years of experience working directly with youth in organized out-of-school-time settings.• Experience working with budgets, developing a budget, fiscal management of programs, and fund raising.• YMCA management experience desirable.• Florida Directors Credential preferred or must obtain Director's Credential within 18 months of employment.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Sound fiscal management practices, strong organizational abilities and problem solving strategies.• Demonstrated leadership through experiences in supervision, community collaboration and innovation.• Ability to observe program activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures.• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.• Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred.Position Profile• Outgoing personality enjoys speaking to people.• Innate desire to provide excellent customer service.
