Position Summary:Under the direction of the Program Director / Associate Executive Director, the Program Manager is responsible for administration, supervision, program development and implementation of quality YMCA programs and overall operations including After-School, City of Aventura Recreation Center programs and Summer Camps.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:• Maintain site budget by ensuring proper staffing and supply purchases.• Ensure student enrollment meets and exceeds yearly goals.• Implement and develop new classes for the community.• Responsible for hiring, supervision and training of all part time staff at the designated sites.• Ensure all employees complete the required trainings.• Encourage and support staff development through continuous shadowing, training, mentoring, redirection and recognition.• Facilitate regular Site Director Meetings to enhance program quality and maintain open and productive communication.• In partnership with the City, assist with planning joint community’s events (Halloween Event, Founders Day, Movie Nights, etc.).• Conduct daily and weekly monitoring visits with sites to ensure program quality and compliance with YMCA operational standards.• Maintain all staff files and monthly DCF compliance (fire drills, cleaning charts, emergency evacuation drills, etc.).• Ensure all program sites are furnished with necessary equipment, resources and supplies. Responsible for inventory maintenance.• Maintain effective communication with City leadership, parents, students YMCA personal and City staff.• Participate in association wide special events and trainings as required.• Uphold all YMCA policies and procedures including those related to safety and risk management and attend all mandatory YMCA and State trainings.• All other tasks assigned by the Associate Executive Director, or the Program Director.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities / Position Requirements:• Must be at least 21 years of age.• BA or AA Degree in Related Fields preferred, or High School Diploma with Experience in management and Education.• Current state-approved CPR / First aid certification including AED.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound fiscal management practices, strong organizational skills and problem-solving strategies.• Ability to observe program activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures.• Proficient in Microsoft Office including word and excel.• Bilingual, English and Spanish is preferred.• Valid Driver’s License and Evidence of Insurability.• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with youth and adults including program participants, parents, volunteers, staff, and representatives of contract pool sites.• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.Position Profile:• Has a passion and enjoys working with children.• Attention to detail.• High level of patience.• Ability to lead and train staff• Desire to provide excellent customer service.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.• Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking and 45% standing.• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and potential infections.• Incumbent will be required to work in each program site as needed and be responsible for own transportation.
