We are seeking an energetic and experienced Music Teacher to add to their teaching experiences by joining our team in this Part Time position! You will be leading classes of students each week using our innovative young child music programs to introduce and engage very young children (ages 2-6) into the world of music.Benefits/Perks

You are a caring, fun person who is passionate about working with kids, and seeing them learn and develop new skills. You love music, and have some experience with music, although a degree in music is not required for this position. Highly organized, and with strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging class environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum, using in house trademarked or copyrighted programs, after detailed training.
- Manage small groups of 3-5 students, in 30 or 45-minute classes, 2-3 weekdays each week, M--F , 3-6:30, PLUS Sats 9-3.Sun 2-6 may also be available in September.
- Follow specific lesson plans, while using resources and creativity for games, and crafts projects on occasion.
- Communicate effectively with parents, while at the school, on students' progress
- Work with other school personnel to support this program.
- May work off-site to deliver one or more early childhood programs, with school administration or other faculty.
Qualifications:
- Fun, friendly, positive approach, with ability to control a small group of 3-6 kids effectively.
- Experience working in a paid early childhood teaching capacity for at least 1 year.
- Ability to play basic Piano or Guitar, and comfort singing simple songs.
- Comfortable with movement and music.
- Strong ability to manage groups of young students
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow written lesson plans, and execute them effectively.
- Musical theater background a plus.
- A Bachelors in Music or Musical Theater
- Language fluency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Vietnamese, in addition to English is a PLUS.
Compensation: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

The Boston School of Music Arts is a brand new version of an established Boston music education and performance company. We have been delivering music lessons and performance in Boston since 2010. We have two locations in Boston and both are very conveniently located near public transportation and plenty of free parking in both locations. The area contains several restaurants, shops and other conveniences, in an eclectic, culturally rich area of Boston.You can be part of a highly diverse and vibrant community, with a strong curriculum. We are a performance-oriented school. This means that although we do prepare for auditions and examinations, our main focus is to teach performance confidence and competence, in addition to music reading and writing skills, and above all, creative expression through music.

About 92% of our students are between 3 and 16 years old, and some are part of our Professional Department. The adults who are learning music with us are either absolute beginners, aspiring pros, or professional musicians.We realize that some of our students may not become professional musicians. For those students, we strive to provide a fun but educational environment with well organized administration and excellent teachers and a warm environment that is conducive to learning.
