Part-Time Youth Multi-Sport Coach, San Francisco (2026-27 School Year)

We're looking for passionate and committed part-time Youth Multi-Sport Coaches in San Francisco for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 seasons!

Make a positive difference in the lives of America's youth by coaching after-school sports programs and daytime recess programs. No previous coaching experience is required. We train all coaches.

Do you love working with kids, teaching sports and wellness, and helping others improve? As a Youth Multi-Sport Coach with ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars), you'll coach weekly daytime recess or after-school sports programs at our San Francisco partner elementary schools. Our Fall season runs August 17 to December 18, 2026, and our Spring season runs January 5 to June 2, 2027. Coaches must be available through the end of the season they join. Time commitment is 5-20 hours per week, depending on how many programs you coach.

We provide all necessary training, equipment, and support. Being an ANTS Coach is a great way to learn to coach sports while serving your community.

Coach Responsibilities

• Lead a fun and safe weekly multi-sport curriculum for K-5th grade students
• Teach the FUNdamentals of sports through a cohesive, game-filled lesson plan. Training provided!
• Ensure a safe and reliable program by arriving on time on each of your program days for the entire season
• Attend an in-person orientation training
• Interact positively with parents, teachers, and school staff
• Set up before and clean up after your program

Locations

ANTS partner schools are public elementary schools. Most locations are in the Sunset area.

Schedule

ANTS K-5th programs run on the same day or days each week for the entire season, and your shift will be offered based on your availability. Shifts are:

• AM (daytime recess): 10:45am-1pm
• PM (after-school program): 1:45-5pm

You must be able to reliably coach your assigned AM and/or PM shifts, between 1 and 5 days per week.

Requirements

• Transportation: Coaches must have reliable transportation to their coaching sites. You may need to bring equipment to and from class, so a vehicle is very helpful.
• Responsible and professional: Arrive on time to each class and keep accurate attendance. Interact positively with parents and school staff.
• Communication: Have strong communication skills. You'll communicate with ANTS, parents, and site staff by email and phone.
• Enthusiastic and fun: ANTS coaches are positive role models for our students. We expect you to share our belief in the themes we promote: sportsmanship, wellness, and positivity.
• Patience: Understand young children and their need to develop at their own pace.
• Experience: At least two years of experience as a player or coach is highly valued, but not required.
• Background check: Candidates must pass a federal and state background check through FBI fingerprinting (Livescan) and provide a negative TB test from within the last 4 years.

• Patience: Be a patient person who understands young children & their need to develop at their own pace.
• Experience: Experience as a player or coach (at least two years) is highly valuable, though optional.
• Background check: A successful candidate must pass a Federal and state Background Check and/or FBI Fingerprinting (Livescan) and test negative for TB test (within the last 4 years).
