Job Description
Bring Energy. Build Confidence. Make a Difference.
If you’re the kind of person who walks into a room and instantly lifts the energy, if you love turning “just another practice” into the highlight of a kid’s week then this is your kind of job.
At Skyhawks Sports, we’ve spent over 45 years (and 4 years strong right here locally) proving that sports are one of the most powerful ways to teach life skills, confidence, and resilience. Every single session matters.
We’re looking for outgoing, high-energy coaches who genuinely light kids up. Whether you’re a college athlete, teacher, former varsity standout, or just someone with contagious enthusiasm and solid sports experience, your impact is massive, even if you can only give us 2–10 hours a week. One practice a week with the right coach can be the moment a child decides they’re capable of anything.
This flexible, part-time role is built for people with busy lives who still want to make a real difference: students, educators, working professionals, parents, and serious athletes who coach on the side. You bring the personality and skill; we provide the proven curriculum, all equipment, and full support.
No need to be available 40 hours a week; many of our very best coaches started with just one or two sessions and are still the kids’ favorite years later.
What You’ll Do:
- You’ll be right in the action; teaching kids, connecting with families, and bringing fun to every session.
- Lead groups of young athletes through engaging, skill-based lessons using Skyhawks’ proven curriculum.
- Create a positive, encouraging and safe environment where every child feels included and supported.
- Communicate with parents and participants to build excitement and trust.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches and Directors to deliver top-quality programs.
- Set up and organize equipment, ensuring smooth, safe, and successful sessions.
- Be a role model, inspiring kids to stay active, confident, and kind both on and off the field.
- Continue to grow as a coach and mentor, creating lasting impact on kids, coaches, and community.
Who You Are: We’re looking for natural motivators, people who bring energy, enthusiasm, and connection to everything they do. You’re someone who:
- You naturally click with kids and parents the second you show up.
- You bring big energy and genuine encouragement to every session.
- You’re passionate about sports and love passing that fire to the next generation.
- You’re reliable and excited by variety, new sites, new groups, new sports, no sweat.
- You’re confident supporting a lead Director and coaching multiple sports at an intro. level.
- You’ve got some experience with kids/coaching (any level counts); passion and presence trump everything.
- You’re ambitious, you like the idea of quickly moving up to Site Director, running your own programs and leading coaches.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You…
- Love being part of a team that celebrates fun and growth.
- Enjoy days filled with high-fives, laughter, and great energy.
- Want flexible, meaningful work that makes a difference.
- Are passionate about youth development and positive coaching.
- Believe sports can teach confidence, teamwork, and respect.
