POSITION SUMMARY The Laborer is responsible for supporting railcar repair work (cleaning, debris removal, rough demolition). Performs specialized tasks that will require on-the-job training from skilled technicians. Laborers must follow all company guidelines and safety rules when performing their duties. Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to: SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS Performs various manual tasks as a general laborer to assist in unloading trucks, railcars and upkeep of the overall plant. Operates pallet jacks, forklifts and cranes to deliver inbound materials efficiently, effectively and safely to the proper work center or storage location. May need to assemble items prior to staging. Safely operate small tools, cutting torches, grinders, and other pneumatic or hydraulic tools. Ability to operate a blast hose, shovel and forklift safely and proficiently with on-the-job training. Assist technicians with completing their tasks including but not limited to prepping all cars for interior and exterior blast, delivering material, blast media and equipment to the work area. Fosters teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of self and others. Ability to interpret directions and/or instructions. Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule. Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment. Self-motivated with ability to complete projects with minimum direct supervision. Organizes and maintains a clean work area, free from any hazards. All work must conform to customer expectations and company policy and procedures. Other duties and projects as assigned by the department Supervisor or Team Leader. EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED. Ability to read and comprehend basic drawings and perform basic math skills (adding/subtraction). Minimum of 1 year of work experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, work boots and the ability to wear a respirator. The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials for more than 50% of the workday. Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and able to drag blast hose over full length of the railcar. Working around heavy moving equipment with intermittent exposure to vibration when using impact tools. Work outdoors in all weather conditions. The ability to sustain mental and visual attention to details for sustained periods of time. WORK SITE ENVIRONMENT Must comply with all safety requirements at all times and lead by example regarding safety. Primary work environment subject to extreme heat or cold for considerable amounts of time. Must dress accordingly. Hearing protection shall be required in certain designated areas to noise levels greater than 80 decibels. Scaffolds, floors, ladders and walking surfaces may be uneven. The Group Exercise Instructor will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. The Group Exercise Instructor will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness. Major Responsibilities: Pre-class Preparation: Arrive at class location 10 to 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time to be available to interact with members, answer questions, inquire about their fitness progress, introduce and orient new participants. Group Exercise Instructors should know their participants on an individual basis and have a good sense of their fitness capabilities. Clothing should be appropriate fitness attire. It should not prohibit participants from seeing proper form, alignment and movement of the body. However, clothing should not be revealing in an inappropriate manner. When possible, Group Exercise Instructors should wear World Gym branded attire. Proper footwear should be worn at all times. Prepare appropriate music for class. If using multiple tapes, ensure everything is rewound and ready to play when needed. Refrain from using music with offensive language. Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and have microphones ready. During Class Responsibilities: Introduce yourself and the format of the class. Inquire if there are any "first-timers" in the group and if so, assess their fitness level in as private a manner as possible. Continually monitor participants to ensure all participants are using correct form. Offer variations of the routine to accommodate all fitness levels. Make sure room is in order for the next class to begin. Answer any questions/concerns participants may have. Solicit feedback from participants about the class. Additional Responsibilities: Make sure that class begins and ends promptly. If necessary, make adjustments to the flow of the class to ensure adherence to the schedule. If the Group Exercise Instructor is teaching the last class of the day, please follow proper closing procedures as outlined by the Group Exercise Director for the individual facility. In the event that a Group Exercise Instructor cannot fulfill a scheduled class, it is his/her responsibility to find a qualified/approved substitute and notify the Group Exercise Director if there is a problem finding a substitute. Group Exercise Instructors must be dependable and consistent in their class schedules. Anyone committing to teach a class should make all arrangements so that substitutes or cancellations are a rare occurrence. Attend all required staff meetings as necessary. POSITION SUMMARY

The Laborer is responsible for supporting railcar repair work (cleaning, debris removal, rough demolition). Performs specialized tasks that will require on-the-job training from skilled technicians. Laborers must follow all company guidelines and safety rules when performing their duties.

Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:

SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS

  • Performs various manual tasks as a general laborer to assist in unloading trucks, railcars and upkeep of the overall plant.

  • Operates pallet jacks, forklifts and cranes to deliver inbound materials efficiently, effectively and safely to the proper work center or storage location. May need to assemble items prior to staging.

  • Safely operate small tools, cutting torches, grinders, and other pneumatic or hydraulic tools.

  • Ability to operate a blast hose, shovel and forklift safely and proficiently with on-the-job training.

  • Assist technicians with completing their tasks including but not limited to prepping all cars for interior and exterior blast, delivering material, blast media and equipment to the work area.

  • Fosters teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of self and others.

  • Ability to interpret directions and/or instructions.

  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.

  • Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials for more than 50% of the workday.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and able to drag blast hose over full length of the railcar.

  • Working around heavy moving equipment with intermittent exposure to vibration when using impact tools.

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • The ability to sustain mental and visual attention to details for sustained periods of time.

WORK SITE ENVIRONMENT

  • Must comply with all safety requirements at all times and lead by example regarding safety.

  • Primary work environment subject to extreme heat or cold for considerable amounts of time. Must dress accordingly.

  • Hearing protection shall be required in certain designated areas to noise levels greater than 80 decibels.

  • Scaffolds, floors, ladders and walking surfaces may be uneven.
