The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive physical, social, and psychological assessments, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental evaluations.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Incorporate information from patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to inform patient care.

  • Care Planning: Use critical thinking to develop individualized care plans, engaging patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team in the process.

  • Preparation for Post-Care: Prepare patients for further support needs post-care, including teaching, referrals, and follow-up.

  • Implementation of Care: Delegate, coordinate, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure care plans are followed accurately.

  • Patient Response Evaluation: Evaluate patient responses to interventions by reviewing goal achievement, clinical outcomes, and patient and family satisfaction, revising care plans as necessary.

  • Documentation: Ensure thorough and accurate completion of all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.

  • Professional Development and Compliance: Promote the nursing profession, contribute to the development of colleagues, and integrate legal and ethical standards into practice.

  • Imaging-Specific Responsibilities: Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation for exams, providing Pre-Op and Post-Op care for interventional procedures.

  • Assistance During Procedures: Assist the Radiologist during interventional procedures, including scrubbing in, anticipating needs, managing patient care, and performing tasks such as PICC line insertions and wound care.

Position Details:

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: PRN as needed

  • Location: Intermountain Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital

  • Shift: Days, 7AM-5:30PM. Call and holiday coverage also needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active State RN license.

  • Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers, ACLS or PALS certification (or must obtain within a specified timeframe).

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. RNs hired or promoted into this role need to have or obtain their BSN within four years of hire or promotion.

  • Experience: Nursing experience in Critical Care or Emergency settings. Understanding basic x-ray principles and practices.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
