As a Kitchen Supervisor you would be r
esponsible for preparing all food items, while following local health department standards, Suburban Inns’ Core Values, and Suburban Inns/Big E’s standards, as well as going above and beyond to ensure that guests are 100% satisfied. Responsible for leading, managing, and holding team members accountable to all Suburban Inns Processes and Standards in absence of the Kitchen Manager.

Essential Functions:
 
  • Greet guests in a friendly, positive manner.  Ask questions of guests and make personal connections to make them feel they are welcome and valued
  • Prepare and directly supervise kitchen staff responsible for the daily preparation of foods to ensure that methods of cooking, garnishing, and portion sizes are as prescribed by standardized Big E’s recipes in absence of Kitchen Manager
  • Manage and train Team members on sanitation and safety, menu planning, and related production activities
  • Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times
  • Set up service units with needed items
  • Service items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
  • Notify the Kitchen Manager of expected product shortages
  • Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • Set up, maintain, clean, and break down cook line, dishwasher area, and prep cook station as needed
  • Requisition of items needed to produce menu items
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with placing weekly orders
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with month-end inventory
  • Adhere to and enforce local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain and manage BOH systems in accordance with health department standards
  • Cover, date, rotate and neatly store all leftover products that are reusable
  • Maintain the highest sanitary standards
  • Follow all Suburban Inns Processes
  • Lead, manage, and hold team members accountable to the standards of employment and job performance set by the core values of Suburban Inns in the absence of the Kitchen manager
  • Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
  • Other duties as requested by management

Position Requirements:

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: Prior restaurant experience preferred

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: None
