The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) seeks to hire an Administrative and Project Assistant to support its Sports Wagering Division (SWD). The Administrative and Project Assistant provides senior-level administrative support to the Sports Wagering Division. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitoring and managing multiple shared email inboxes for the Sports Wagering Division. Communicate with internal departments (e.g., Communications, Legal) and external stakeholders (e.g., licensees, vendors) to support Division operations. Provide general administrative support to the Project Coordinator including drafting and formatting project updates and status reports, tracking timelines and action items, assisting with document version control and SOP development, and preparing summaries of incident logs or trend data. Skills and Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with intermediate Excel and chart-building skills. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro, including form creation using Adobe Writer. Experience using SharePoint and video conferencing tools (e.g., HD Meeting or similar). JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Responsible for various aspects of running and supervising daily Parks and Recreation sports league games. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure courts are prepared for game play- inspect courts for safety hazards and ensure player/spectator seating is set up. Communicate with team captains, volunteer coaches, and spectators to assist teams and answer questions when needed. Notify teams of any schedule changes and rule interpretations. Distribute revised schedules to team captains when needed. Communicate with officials at start of games and throughout the evening. Assist officials in handling protests, player/spectator conflicts, and dealing with weather-related issues. Manage courts during games- scorekeeping- running scoreboard and/or tracking on paper scoresheet, secure courts and equipment after games are completed each night, monitor spectators, maintain records (accident and incident reports, discipline/ejection). Obey and comply with all City of Blue Springs, Blue Springs Parks and Recreation, State and Local ordinances and policies. The above duties and responsibilities include those tasks, physical and mental requirements, visual requirement, unique physical surroundings and mental/cognitive abilities required to perform the essential elements of the position. The Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant plays a pivotal role in executing the operations of the Intramural programming within the Campus Recreation department. This position involves assisting in overseeing the Intramural officials, managing game schedules, and coordinating with the Assistant Director for nightly coverage of Intramurals.
