Job Summary
Broker Support is responsible for providing exceptional operational-based customer service specializing in support for agent and agency operational inquiries. Support staff utilize phone queues, email, and ticketing system to liaison between agents, business partners, and carriers. Follow all departmental processes, procedures, and policies as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for standard phone coverage of BST phone queues.
Assumes responsibility for live phone calls in the Broker Support, Site Assistance, and Operator Backup Queue.
Responsible for updating various agent/agency contact information.
Responsible for updating payment method/EFT information provided by agent/agency to ensure compensation is paid accurately.
Assumes responsibility for assigned reporting.
Assumes responsibility for specific departmental training to new team hires as assigned by Team Lead.
Assumes responsibility as mentor when assigned.
Additional Responsibilities as Assigned:
Assumes responsibility for various cross-training assignments.
Assists with additional agent support as necessary
Quality Assurance Requirements.
Must be able to maintain Quality Assurance scores based on the current department standards and guidelines.
Quality Assurance is currently based on service requests, payment method processing, and phone calls.
Provides customer service to agents via phone, email and via service tickets.
Provides full circle customer service to verify agent issues are properly and thoroughly addressed and resolved.
Primary Skills & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of insurance and agent relationship.
Knowledge of New Business operations and procedures.
One-year customer service experience and/or data entry experience.
One-year experience with Microsoft Office; Excel experience required – Ability to use functions and create/manipulate charts/graphs a plus.
Good communication skills, especially over the phone.
Good computer and typing skills.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including email, copy machine, scanner, fax machine, and telephone.
Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
