JOB DUTIES Assists Nuclear Medicine Technologists in performing procedures on patients. Always functions under the direct supervision of a licensed Technologist. Holds or positions patients during a procedure at the direction of a Technologist. Assists patients on/off the table. Assists, in a timely manner, with throughput and coordination of patients within the department. Performs general support duties such as answering telephones, obtaining orders including verbal orders, relaying messages, phoning results, and preparing images or reports upon request. Performs transportation duties on various patients to and from the Radiology department. Exhibits mastery of all functions of: Hot Lab and Nuclear medicine equipment in use with the department and Stress lab, and image viewing systems and procedures pertinent to the radiographic equipment used. Produces images of the highest technical quality while adhering to the principle of ALARA in regards to radiation dose, using shielding, collimation, and cassette sizes. Assists Radiologist and Technologist during radiotherapy, imaging and other patient examinations. Prepares patient and exam room prior to Radiologist arrival. Positions and transfers patients, provides a safe environment, and uses positioning devices as necessary. Assists Technologist in thoroughly explaining all procedures to the patient prior to study. Manages patient/exam information through existing electronic systems. Ensures all patient/exam information/charges/supplies are reported accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for cleaning equipment; including treadmills, hot lab, and maintaining a clean/stocked imaging room. JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a current student in second year, or graduate of a formal program in Nuclear Medicine Technology in an AMA approved school. Must have completed clinical competencies with instructor sign off. As a Radiologic Technologist, you'll perform essential diagnostic imaging procedures that support timely and accurate patient care. You'll serve as a resource to fellow staff, ensuring that each exam is conducted with technical excellence, patient comfort, and clinical integrity. In this role, you'll operate digital radiography equipment, prepare exam rooms and contrast medications, and assist patients throughout their imaging experience. You'll also contribute to quality assurance efforts and may support outpatient medical assisting duties-such as documenting medical history and obtaining vitals-based on staffing levels and patient volume. About the job:

Assists Nuclear Medicine Technologists in performing procedures on patients. Always functions under the direct supervision of a licensed Technologist. Assists, in a timely manner, with throughput and coordination of patients within the Nuc. Med. department. Performs general support duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages, phoning results, and preparing CDs. Performs transportation duties on various patients to and from the department.

JOB DUTIES

  1. Assists Nuclear Medicine Technologists in performing procedures on patients. Always functions under the direct supervision of a licensed Technologist.

  2. Holds or positions patients during a procedure at the direction of a Technologist.

  3. Assists patients on/off the table.

  4. Assists, in a timely manner, with throughput and coordination of patients within the department.

  5. Performs general support duties such as answering telephones, obtaining orders including verbal orders, relaying messages, phoning results, and preparing images or reports upon request.

  6. Performs transportation duties on various patients to and from the Radiology department.

  7. Exhibits mastery of all functions of: Hot Lab and Nuclear medicine equipment in use with the department and Stress lab, and image viewing systems and procedures pertinent to the radiographic equipment used.

  8. Produces images of the highest technical quality while adhering to the principle of ALARA in regards to radiation dose, using shielding, collimation, and cassette sizes.

  9. Assists Radiologist and Technologist during radiotherapy, imaging and other patient examinations. Prepares patient and exam room prior to Radiologist arrival.

  10. Positions and transfers patients, provides a safe environment, and uses positioning devices as necessary.

  11. Assists Technologist in thoroughly explaining all procedures to the patient prior to study.

  12. Manages patient/exam information through existing electronic systems. Ensures all patient/exam information/charges/supplies are reported accurately and in a timely manner.

  13. Responsible for cleaning equipment; including treadmills, hot lab, and maintaining a clean/stocked imaging room.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a current student in second year, or graduate of a formal program in Nuclear Medicine Technology in an AMA approved school. Must have completed clinical competencies with instructor sign off.

Licensure: Current BLS/CPR certification and state of Indiana student radiography/nuclear medicine license
