Educate patient on exam preparation to achieve the best diagnostic images. Follow policies regarding lead protective devices. Position and instruct patient for particular examination. Use proper supportive devices and angle boards when needed. Use correct exposure factors to produce diagnostic images. Make proper exposure from behind protective barrier or adequate distance from patient and equipment. Be able to differentiate between diagnostic and repeatable images. Follow protocols for administration of contrast. General knowledge of computers and PACS/EMR for job specific duties.
