Your job is more than a job. The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical requirements. Assists with preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience. Day to Day GENERAL DUTIES Transports patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units. Facilitates getting patients ready for examinations including dressing patients. Assists patients on and off the examination tables. Sets up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintains exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees. Recognizes emergent situations and responds appropriately. Calls codes as needed. Identifies orders in epic, coordinates with technologist and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast. Adheres to the hospital policy on body substance isolation. Demonstrates safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff. Answers the telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed. Must Haves MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) - American Heart Association. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical requirements. Assists with preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience.

Day to Day

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Transports patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units.
  • Facilitates getting patients ready for examinations including dressing patients. Assists patients on and off the examination tables.
  • Sets up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintains exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees.
  • Recognizes emergent situations and responds appropriately. Calls codes as needed.
  • Identifies orders in epic, coordinates with technologist and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast.
  • Adheres to the hospital policy on body substance isolation.
  • Demonstrates safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff.
  • Answers the telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed.

Must Haves

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) - American Heart Association.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
