What You'll Do: Performs general head, sinus, chest, abdominal, pelvic, and lumbar computed tomography procedures, as well as specialty procedures as requested; confirms images sent to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), sends images to Vitrea as requested by Radiologist; operates power injector; assists with daily quality control procedures (i.e., imaging of phantom, checking contrast temperature and checking crash cart). If mammography certified then performs mammograms; performs and documents quality control procedures (e.g. cassette and darkroom cleanliness, processor quality control, etc.); scans images in R2 unit for CAD assistance; ensures all data has been gathered and placed for interpretation by Radiologist in a timely manner. Maintains competency and current knowledge of all radiographic procedures including Computed Tomography (CT) and/or mammography and surgery imaging to provide high quality diagnostic procedures. Operates all imaging equipment in the prescribed manner to provide high quality diagnostic images, including but not limited to utilizing proper technique, proper positioning of patient for procedure, collimating, shielding, use of lead markers, and the immobilization of the patient using instruction and/or equipment developed for this purpose.
