Processes x-ray images and archives to a CD or DVD to comply with FMCNA policies and procedures for patient medical records and state regulations. Provides outstanding quality of patient care by supporting and driving FMCNA quality standards through meeting regulatory requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of FMCNA CQI tools. Assists with implementing FMCNA quality goals and facility specific action plans in order to achieve FMCNA quality standards. Ensures medical records are accurate, complete and in compliance with FMCNA policies and procedures. Maintains integrity of medical records, filing paperwork in patient files according to policies and procedures and performing audits on a regular basis. Assists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics. Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary and safe on a daily basis Ensures all facility equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment on a daily basis before and after procedures. Makes recommendations regarding replacement of equipment and repairs. Assists with disposal of hazardous waste materials, dirty linen and rugs. Prepares, organizes, and efficiently utilizes supplies and equipment to prevent wastage. Attends and participates in Governing Body, assisting with meeting agenda and gathering of data/material for meetings. Ensures effective communication with physicians. Attends and participates in CQI meetings with physicians, reporting on assigned topics. Works with the physicians and staff to ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are on hand. Addresses physician concerns in areas of responsibility. Assists in training and orienting new employees on the equipment. Ensures patient billing is accurate and timely by reviewing all procedures, documenting patient equipment charges and verifying CPT and ICD9 codes are correct. Assists with inventory, ordering of supplies and re-stocking of supplies. Acts as Radiation Safety Officer; monitors radiation badges and conducts in-services regarding Radiation safety. Union Position: No Department Details Summary Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. Operates equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines; ensures the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes. Job Description Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures; conducts image operations according to provider requests and other technical factors. Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process.Delivers excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.Sanford Rural Health Network Facility sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.Occupational Medicine clinics may have expanded job duties based on facility needs including preforming routing testing, and sampling and other technical services to support Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Services, including but not limited to, drug screens, breath alcohol testing and audiograms as well as administrative and/or clinical support. Qualifications Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, qualitycontrol, and radiation protection is required.Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required.If working in South Dakota, candidates must obtain their ARRT certification within 60 days of hire.In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of PublicHealth in order to practice in the state of IowaIf working at some clinic locations, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire into the position.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.Driver's license may be required, dependent upon department.
