This includes applying ionizing radiation or other forms of energy, following sterile technique to scrub into procedures and the ability to document relevant case information in the case log. Christie Clinic's Radiology department is seeking a Mammograhy Technologist/Team Lead from Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm at the University and Windsor clinics. Duties include performing and demonstrating proficiency of techniques, principles, and procedures for breast imaging. This role must be able to work independently to produce images for the Radiologist to interpret the exam, as well as work with mammographers to maintain safety and standards determined by leadership. Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technologist program, IEMA licensure, and clinical experience performing Mammograms is required. Must be current with the number of Mammography images to fulfill the IEMA requirements and have a current registration in Mammography through the ARRT (must be working towards within 2 years of training in Mammography). JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Greet patients with eye contact, introduce yourself, and verify correct patient by using proper patient identifiers. Verify correct ordering provider and exam. Explain exam and educate patients on procedure. Qualifications: Min. A.A.S. in Radiology Technology or graduation from a 2 yr AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Current valid New York State License and ARRT. One year experience in radiographic procedures at an accredited Health Care Facility preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform gastrointestinal, genitourinary, portables, OR, cranial/facial procedures (or equivalent skills and training) required. Responsibilities include: Providing quality ultrasound images to a Radiologist. Involved in direct patient care. Helping with assigned duties of the department--visual equipment checklist, room supply checklist, filling out worksheets with information prior to ultrasound study. Conferring with Radiologist or PCP when needed to clarify exam ordered. Work with Epic and Merge computer programs to begin a patient study and send images to the Radiologists. The ability to read and effectively communicate in the English language. Education Completion of an accredited course in diagnostic medical sonography. Certification/License ARDMS certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN required RVT (Registered vascular sonographer) also preferred. Performs diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a clinical setting. Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders. Assists the physician with the performance of various diagnostic and interventional procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. Supports the education, training and quality improvement process. Education Qualifications Associates degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program is required. Bachelor’s degree in allied health, applied/radiologic science or related field is preferred. Experience Qualifications 2 years of experience in interventional radiology or special procedures is required. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Licensed Radiographer in the state of practice is required. Certification as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
