Responsibilities Performing radiology procedures as ordered by the physician(s) in such a way to assure reliability of results and patient safety Welcome patients and obtain medical histories from patients; verify patient information Complete patient check-in and check-out along with applicable paperwork Prepares charts Process payments Answer incoming calls Schedule patients Communicates with all staff Maintain documentation of patient testing information Assist in maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies in the department Qualifications Excellent patient care and customer service skills Current Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle at all times Able to maintain professionalism and customer focus in a stressful and fast-paced environment Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technician program IL and/or IN State Radiology Technician licensure Previous X-Ray Experience preferred, not required Insuring safety and following and maintaining all federal and state ordinance ARRT Certification required Able to multitask while ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures Able to receive and provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback Organizational skills EMR experience The hourly rate for this position is $40 per hour WORK HOUR AND SHIFTS: 12 hour shifts, 8AM - 8PM. 3 shifts one week, 3.5 shifts the following, rotating weekends or Monday - Friday 8:00 - 6:00 Benefits: Midwest Express Clinic is proud to offer our employees a competitive selection of employer sponsored medical, dental, vision, and short term disability plans that meet the diverse needs of our employees and their families. Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Responsible for operating radiologic equipment including c-arms and ERCP equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians. Performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. What you will do Prepares patients and adjusts equipment for taking exposure. Positions patients for procedures. Works with physicians to obtain optimal images. Determines proper voltage and current and desired exposure time and practices ALARA. Adjusts lead shield to protect unaffected parts of the body from exposure to radiation. Selects DR plate and inserts into holder if applicable or improvises method to assure appropriate set-up. Positions equipment at proper distance and angles from body to specified area. Activates machinery from safety of protective enclosure or while shielded. Arrange, attach or adjust immobilization and support devices (e.g. sand bags, binders, tape to obtain precise position, prevent patient movement and lessen discomfort). Operates c-arm equipment to provide quality images for the surgeons. Coordinates surgery schedules to assure surgeons receive excellent radiology service. Performs clerical duties (In House PACS and Teleradiology Competent). Takes x-ray images in other areas of the hospital with portable equipment Transport equipment to areas such as operating room, emergency room, and patient rooms. Observe sterile techniques and complete procedures promptly. Assists with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation. Mentors and assists in the education of students enrolled in the School of Radiological Technology. Produces high quality images via digital imaging and presents the images satisfactorily for Radiologist interpretation. Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Radiology Department, Quality Assurance, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines or as required by law. - Assist in maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies in the department
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills
- Current Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle at all times
- Able to maintain professionalism and customer focus in a stressful and fast-paced environment
- Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technician program
- IL and/or IN State Radiology Technician licensure
- Previous X-Ray Experience preferred, not required
- Insuring safety and following and maintaining all federal and state ordinance
- ARRT Certification required
- Able to multitask while ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures
- Able to receive and provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback
- Organizational skills
- EMR experience
WORK HOUR AND SHIFTS:
12 hour shifts, 8AM - 8PM. 3 shifts one week, 3.5 shifts the following, rotating weekends or
Monday - Friday 8:00 - 6:00
