Primary Duties and Responsibilities: For CT Diagnostic Imaging studies that are scheduled to be performed at UMHC/SCCC during Saturday daytime hours only patients who meet the following criteria are to be scheduled. Out -patients who do not to require pre-medication for prior IV Iodinated Contrast Allergies. Out-patients who do not require IV hydration for any type of renal impairment. Out-patients deemed high risk due to medical history as determined by the Radiologist or the referring clinician. The Voluntary Faculty Radiologist/Staff Physician assigned on Saturday will triage or answer any questions related to the CT Imaging Study that the CT Technologist may have. The Voluntary Faculty Radiologist/Staff Physician/ will cover the patients who are being injected with IV Iodinated Contrast in the event the patient experiences a Contrast Media Reaction. In the event of a mild to moderate IV Iodinated Contrast Media Reaction UMHC/SCCC will provide Nursing support and the Radiologist will evaluate the patient, write appropriate medication orders, write a progress notes, and will evaluate the patient prior to discharge home from UMHC/SCCC as well as providing discharge instruction. In the event of a severe IV Iodinated Contrast Reaction the Voluntary Faculty Radiologist/Staff Physician will provide initial response, assessment and treatment, and the UMHC/SCCC Rapid Response Team will be activated to take over care and disposition of the patient. In the of event of a Cardiac or Respiratory Arrest the UMHC/SCCC Code team will be immediately called and the Voluntary Faculty Radiologist/Staff Physician will provide BLS along with the CT Technologist until the UMHC/SCCC Code team arrives to take over management of the patient. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatments Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette Performs in tactful and professional manner.   1. Demonstrates increasing knowledge of correct & acceptable radiographic techniques & positioning, in operating all equipment and sets up room/equipment appropriate for exam ordered.

  2. Is learning to complete patient screening with attention to pregnancy, contrast and any contraindications, as well as understanding and utilizing contrast forms for contrast exams.

  3. Utilize designated communication devices and respond appropriately.

  4. Demonstrates increasing knowledge of all emergency equipment/supplies.

  5. Raises concerns related to patient care, patient safety or patient satisfaction to supervisor and leadership in a timely manner.

  6. Ensures work area is properly maintained.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned.
