Administers IM Medications as approved by the MWHC Policy, and ordered by the Physician and directed by the professional nursing/clinical staff. Documents all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Communicates with patients regarding provider advice/instructions within scope of training. Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies. Phones in prescriptions to pharmacies based upon provider's written orders. Provides results and other information to patients as specifically directed by provider. Assists patient with the scheduling of future appointments, surgeries, and/or diagnostic testing, as necessary. The Medical Assistant is not authorized to interpret reports or results or independently dispense medical advice to patients. Vice Chair of Quality, Department of Radiology - Boston, MA Tufts Medical Center's Department of Radiology is seeking a Vice Chair of Quality (VCQ) to join our growing Department in the heart of downtown Boston. VCQ is a clinical leader who ensures that the department consistently delivers high-quality, safe, and effective imaging services to patients. VCQ will participate in departmental and institutional committees related to quality and safety. The Department of Radiology at Tufts Medical Center (TMC) provides high-level academic radiology services in the heart of downtown Boston. TMC is a level-I trauma center with expanding transplant services including live donor liver transplant, renal, and cardiac transplants. Advanced cardiac imaging services are also growing in collaboration with the Cardiology department. Neuroradiology with advanced imaging techniques and state-of-the-art MRI scanner is also our strong point. We provide exceptional cancer patient care through multiple service lines including thoracic, breast, GI, GU, hepatobiliary, hem/onc, GYN, head and neck, and CNS. We have the best Interventional Radiology team in the Boston area with culture of "yes," and provides exceptional patient-centered care. Moreover, we provide comprehensive imaging services covering Chest, Abdominal, MSK, Breast, and Nuclear Medicine imaging. For their clinical component, the VCQ will join a clinical section based on the applicant's subspeciality interest and preferred practice area in one of the diagnostic radiology sections (preferred practice area: abdominal imaging, cardiothoracic/cardiovascular imaging, musculoskeletal imaging). We have an ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program with a complement of 22. Residents gain a wide variety of experiences, particularly from trauma, stroke, transplant, and cancer imaging. We received "continued accreditation" by ACGME this year. Our department offers ESIR pathway for interested residents. Our department currently has two fellowship programs (ACGME NST programs) - MRI fellowship and Emergency and Trauma Radiology Fellowship. Position Summary: The Vice Chair of Quality (VCQ) will be responsible for developing and implementing quality improvement programs, ensuring they align with the departmental and institutional goals. VCQ will be an expert in clinical radiology to deliver excellent patient care and provides dedicated teaching and mentoring of our radiology residents and fellows. Department: DI Under minimal supervision, performs radiographic, fluoroscopic and portable procedures as requested by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Performs any combination of the following duties depending on the area of assignment. Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures such as chest, extremities, spines, catheter placements, etc. Cares for patients during procedures by assisting them to rest rooms, giving them blankets, etc. Prepares patients for their exams. Reports changes in the patient's condition to others for follow-up. Transports patients by stretcher, bed, wheelchair, or walking. Provides care for patients during transportation and in the department, if necessary. Assists patients by lifting and moving them off and on the x-ray tables. Provides bedpans and urinals as needed. Assures that patients are properly dressed for their procedures. Performs related duties such as reporting equipment malfunctions, assists others, and special assignments. Cleans work area and replenishes supplies. Assists with emergency medical treatment under physician direction. Assists with the scheduling of patient exams. Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services. Technologist may give contrast medias and may flush lines with normal saline contrast/normal saline. Under direct supervision of the Radiologist, the technologist may pull Lidocaine/buffered Lidocane for procedure. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology training program approved by the AMA required. Licensure: ARRT, CRT certificate and *Fluoroscopy license are required. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards. Valid Driver's License required. Experience: At least one (1) year of experience as a licensed technologist preferred. The hourly rate for this position is $52.05 - $60.25.
