Key Responsibilities Assist physicians with a wide range of interventional radiology procedures (angiography, biopsies, drainages, vascular access, embolization, stent placements, etc.). Operate fluoroscopy, CT, and other imaging equipment safely and effectively during procedures. Prepare procedure rooms with necessary sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, patient safety, and infection control protocols. Monitor patient vital signs and comfort before, during, and after procedures. Administer contrast media under physician direction and observe patients for adverse reactions. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, supplies used, and patient records in EMR systems. Provide post-procedure instructions and support patient recovery as needed. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency IR procedures (as required by department). Qualifications Current ARRT certification (Radiography) required; ARRT (VI – Vascular Interventional) certification strongly preferred. Nevada State Radiologic Technologist License (must be active and in good standing). Current BLS certification (AHA); ACLS preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in interventional radiology, special procedures, or cardiovascular cath lab strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of sterile technique, radiation safety, and interventional imaging equipment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. Radiologic Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Radiologic Technologists prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy. Job Duties: Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable). Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable. Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers. Assisting the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Performing diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, including those procedures performed outside of the Radiology Department (i.e., Operating room, Endoscopy, ICU, etc.).
