Your Impact Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, the Regional Superintendent will oversee the instructional and operational program in a portfolio of approximately five schools serving students in grades K-8. They will pursue racial equity for all stakeholders in their portfolio, through strong relationship building, strong talent practices, data analysis, and professional development. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an educator to work closely with high performing, results-oriented leaders and serve as a thought partner with principals, multiple teams throughout the network and the organization’s senior leaders. Reporting directly to the Superintendent responsibilities of the Regional Superintendent will include: Ensure that all schools meet core performance outcomes and achieve dramatic student performance gains in all subject areas. Examples of this work include the following, all with a racial equity lens: Plan frequent co-observation days; highlight areas of strength and improvement in feedback during the day; work hand-in-hand with principals to address areas of school improvement. Regularly review data to spot strengths and growth areas; work with principals to develop clear plans to address growth areas. Work with principals to set teacher professional development priorities for the year and to design outstanding site-based and network-wide professional development. Problem-solve solutions to challenges common to all schools in network-wide forums (meetings, conference calls, etc.). Drive strong talent practices at schools to build a diverse and inclusive community, and support, coach, train and supervise principals and deans to help develop leadership power skills: Hold regular meetings with each principal (reflection/data review, problem-solve around pressing issues, professional development planning). Work with the other members of the school support and talent development teams to design principal and dean training; coordinate principal meetings and conference calls. Partner with principals to ensure strong hiring, retention and off-boarding practices Achieve strong survey data on key measures of school organizational health and principal happiness/development Provide organizational development support to the AF Network Support staff and the schools Understand the concerns and constraints of both the schools and AF Network Support teams in order to facilitate good working relationships Ensure that schools are getting top-quality service from all AF Network Support Teams (recruitment, budget/finance, operations, curriculum, external, IT) Lead summer 2026-27 SY onboarding, portfolio transition, and school-year readiness in partnership with principals and Network Support teams Candidate Profile We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader who is passionate about student success and committed to Achievement First’s mission. The ideal candidate will have: A bachelor’s degree (an advanced degree is a plus). At least two years of formal school leadership experience as a principal in a predominantly underserved community, with a proven multi-year track record of driving exceptional student outcomes. Holds or is on a pathway to hold principal certification in CT, RI or NY To thrive in this role, candidates must demonstrate: A deep commitment to Achievement First’s mission, a love of teaching and learning, and an unwavering belief that all students can and will succeed. Regional Superintendents are expected to travel to support schools at various locations across our three regions (New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island) at least 3 days a week. Occasional weekend or evening work and willingness to travel to our schools and offices across our three states is required. Compensation Achievement First sets salaries through a lens of equity, and based on the requisite skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. Salary for this role is $170,258.40. You love dogs and/or cats, enjoy the outdoors (dog walking) and being active. Your free time is often spent volunteering with or being around dogs/cats/animals.

You are experienced with dogs of various sizes and energy levels AND/OR are experienced with cats/other small animals You have reliable transportation, own a smart phone, can work well independently and have good communication skills/customer service skills. 

You desire a flexible schedule, love to learn & are looking to be part of something bigger and to make a difference daily in the lives of others. You are seeking part time work or supplemental income.

Mornings: 6-10am. Afternoons 11-3pm. Evenings 4-6pm. Nights 7-9pm

*Minimum availability required is at least an hour during 2 of these time slots but the more availability, the more clients we can set you up with.Ideal candidates can work Monday through Friday OR Sat & Sun plus or minus some weekdaysEx: Mon-Fri 10am-3pm OR Mon-Fri 8am-2pm OR Mon-Fri 4-9pm, OR Open availability weekends

-The dog walker position can also work in conjunction with our Pet Sitting Positions for additional income-You get to set your hours and maximum amount of hours/visits per week as well as your service areas

-Pet Sitting Position can also be utilized for supplemental income

Dog Walker / Pet Sitter Duties:

-Visit client’s homes to care for their companions while they are at work or on vacation

-Will include; walking, exercising dogs, letting out for bathroom breaks, providing love & attention. May also include feeding, medicating, providing fresh water, cleaning up after animals, litter boxes, etc..

-Leave a note for clients after each visit so they know how the visits went.

Compensation:

Paid per visit:$9 per 15min visit + mileage + tips$10 per 30min visit + mileage + tips$10.50 per 30min visit + mileage + tips$12-$13.50 per 45min visit depending on experience + mileage + tips$16-$18 per hour/60min visit depending on experience + mileage + tipsNOTE: We like to keep our sitters within a 10-15minute travel radius around where they live.You can select your service areas / zip codes
