About You:

We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our preferred candidate is someone who feels the same. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable with all aspects of general practice, including anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring, drug calculations and protocols, dentistry, and surgery. We highly value collaboration from all staff members, so please speak up, as your input is not only valued but can make a difference.

We also treat a fair number of exotic patients, so interest in treating exotics is important! If you are excited to expand your skills and care for a wide variety of species, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Compensation:

$20.00-$22.50 an hour depending on experience and education.

Anticipated Schedule:

This is a Full-Time position

Monday – 8:30am-6pm, Wednesday – 8:30am-6pm, Thursday – 8:30am-6pm, Friday – 8:30am-5pm. 

Rotating Saturday – 8:30am-12pm.

Wickford Veterinary Clinic has proudly been serving the clients of Rhode Island for the last 30 years. Our current team of doctors have over 25 years of experience! Wickford Veterinary Clinic, located in North Kingstown, RI, is a network hospital of Pieper Veterinary.

Requirements

• 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience.
• Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• RVT is a plus.
• Knowledge of Anesthesia and monitoring.
• Phlebotomy
• Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials.
• Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide “tableside” assistance.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
